Consultation Information

Along with our U.S. clients, Dr. Novis is sought out by international, “out-of-town” clients. We have many accommodations for those clients who have to travel to us. Before making the commitment to visit us in person, we suggest scheduling a consultation with Dr. Novis to discuss any concerns or questions you may have. During this consultation, you may be asked to send us photos so we can have a reference of your face. Below is a list of “Do’s and Don’ts” you should follow carefully when we ask for pictures:

Do’s

  • Use natural, in-room light
  • Stand in front of a solid background, preferably white
  • Take clear, full-face photos when taking front-view shots
  • Pull hair back and away from face when taking side-view/profile shots
  • Take photos with your chin pointing down, eyes looking at your feet
  • Take a photo with your head back, nostrils and underside of the nose in clear view when taking rhinoplasty shots

Don’ts

  • Use a backlight or flash
  • Smile, keep your expression neutral
  • Use angled shots or shots from above/below
  • Use extreme close-ups
  • Have hair covering any part of your face or neck, blocking the view of the procedural site
  • Wear glasses, as these may obstruct the view of your eyelids

How to submit an inquiry and photos

To initiate the process, please reach out to us by completing our online form, sending a text, or emailing our Patient Coordinator directly at: info@currenfacialtplasticsurgery.com. Out-of-town patients are required to submit high-resolution, full-sized photos taken without flash, preferably in natural or in-room lighting. Please include front and profile views, each looking straight ahead, as well as a shot of you looking down at the ground.

For rhinoplasty patients, we request these same photos, along with a photo of the underside of the nostrils from the base view (taken with your head tilted upwards). We strongly recommend enlisting the aid of another person to take these photos to ensure optimal angles and lighting. It’s important to avoid turning your head on your shoulders when capturing the profile views. Please refer to the “Do’s and Don’ts” for reference. Rest assured, all photos provided will remain confidential and will never be shared without your explicit written consent. Your privacy is our top priority.

THE IN-PERSON CONSULTATION

If you are able, an in-person consultation may be easiest for you. During these consultations, any questions or concerns you may have will be answered and addressed. We will also use this time to look over the procedural area to decide the best course of action to take during the surgery. If you choose to move on with the procedure, you will be given resources to read and use as a guide before, during, and after your surgery. For other questions or concerns, we are just a phone call away! If you are interested in setting up an in-person consultation at our office, you can email our Patient Coordinator at scheduling@currentfacialplasticsurgery.com or give us a call at 843-371-1610. We look forward to speaking with you!

THE PHONE CONSULTATION

When setting up a consultation, you may request an over-the-phone conversation if you wish. This consultation will help us determine the best steps to take with you and your procedure(s). If you are interested in scheduling a phone consultation, please remember that we will require you to take photos of yourself and submit them to our email: info@currentfacialplasticsurgery.com. For your reference, review our “Do’s and Don’ts” of photo taking.

Our Patient Coordinator is here to assist you with the initial step of the scheduling process – the phone consultation. During this call, we will gather information regarding your goals with surgery. A thorough health history will also be collected, including information about past surgeries and hospitalizations. The Patient Coordinator will provide details regarding the procedure(s) you are interested in, information related to both initial and long-term healing, and specifics related to the surgery itself. To speak to our Patient Coordinator and schedule a phone consultation, you may email scheduling@currentfacialplasticsurgery.com or call our office directly at 843-371-1610. We look forward to speaking with you!

THE VIRTUAL CONSULTATION

If you are interested in setting up a virtual consultation with our office, you can email our Patient Coordinator at scheduling@currentfacialplasticsurgery.com or give us a call at 843-371-1610. We look forward to speaking with you!

For many of our out-of-town clients, a virtual consultation over the internet may be the best option. For these special consultations, you will be sent a link, by email or text (if needed), for a “Video” meeting. Please ensure you are familiar with video calling, or have someone who can assist you. These meetings require the use of a webcam that can record your face and voice, letting our doctor see you clearly and answer any questions you may have. If needed, you may be asked to send us photos of your face for reference. Please view our “Do’s and Don’ts” guideline to understand how photos should be taken and sent to us.

SURGERY FAQ

Will insurance help pay for surgery?

Unfortunately, our office does not accept any insurance, even if your insurance will cover the procedure. All surgical expenses are expected to be paid by the client. Forms of payment for SURGERIES ONLY include checks, cash, card, or care credit.

Where is surgery performed?

Procedures are performed in our in-office surgical suite at our North Myrtle Beach location.

What medicines should be avoided before and after having surgery?

Two weeks before and after your surgery, please avoid aspirin, aspirin-like medications, or any anti-inflammatory medications. Avoid dietary suppressants, dietary supplements, and any “natural herbs/remedies” as well.

Can you perform surgery on someone who smokes?

Smoking or consuming nicotine in any form can lead to complications and delays with the body’s healing process. It is recommended to stop all nicotine consumption 6 weeks before and after your surgery.
